Every time we introduce a new concept to the challenges, come here to train. A handsome Chris AI will instruct you on how to proceed
~~~~MEXICO~~~~
Since I know you may not be used to Adventure Games, this is a training chamber, where you can train before the challenge begins. The area is "randomly generated", with astounding technology, every time you walk in, and so are the puzzles. You can come in with a party, so you can train as a team, or by yourself, if you only want to catch the gist of the thing!
Every time a new 'map' starts, you will all have a LANTERN. Since these will be small maps, you don't have to worry about running out of oil/batteries/anything. This is mostly so you can get used to the concept.
Feel free to post here! If you post, you can either start a party (up to 4 people, like the teams) or start alone and see if people join along the way. Only one map will be going on at a time, like in the actual challenge.
Hey man, anyone in here?" Ace enters "Paola? Quinn? I need to talk to both of you, different matters, both fairly important" He steps into the virtual reality grid and gets a lantern "Oh, cool, a VR. So, what's the point here?"
"Explore the mine and find the way out"
"Oh, so like, an actual mine? Cool, I have some experience with those"
>Ace looks around the room he's in
>You're in a low lit room, LANTERN glimmering in your hand. There is a huge boulder blocking the path SOUTH of you, leading back to the surface. A stream flows from a tiny crack you can't enter to the EAST, and falls down a small grate. There's a BUCKET near the stream. Obvious paths are NORTH and WEST.
"Uh, so I'm locked in" He sighs "Well, better make my way out!" Ace goes, grabs the bucket, and fills it with water
>Taken. The BUCKET is now also filled with water.
"Good, this may be useful" He looks around "Since the entrance is at the south, I suppose North leads deeper into the mine. I'll have to go there eventually, but for now..." He heads west
---Round Room---
You enter a big room with a gazebo on the middle. There is a RUSTY KEY and a ROPE sitting on it. Off to the east side there is a small shaft. There are passageways in each of the four main directions, though the SOUTH one is barred by a metal grate.
"Oh, a shaft, I guess I see where this is going." He pockets the rusty key, and ties the rope to the bucket. "Now the shaft is certainly interesting. Guess I'll be needing to get something from down there, or something down there, this way." He examines the chest in closer detail
>Rusty Key Taken >Bucket and Rope combine (Rope taken)
>You tie the bucket to the rope, for no apparent reason. You also get closer to the shaft on the ground, and notice a small hook near it.
Inventory: Lantern Bucket of Water (tied to rope) Rusty Key Carrying Capacity: 3/7
"A hook, bingo!" Ace exclaims, as he ties the rope to the hook, and carefully pulls tightly so the bucket of water descends slowly. "Now the bucket of water is down there. I don't know what I need to do with the bucket of water down there, or if it's the water I need there at all, but if that's the case, I'll just pull it back up and refill the water" He cleans his hands, and head north
(I'm doing more than one command at once because no one else's here to compete, so that's not an issue)
(Carrying Capacity: 2/7)
-King's Room-
After a few twisting corridors, you find yourself looking at a treasure chest. A huge snake bars the way, and looks at you with anger. Obvious exit is SOUTH.
"Eeep! Really wasn't prepared for this!" He rushes back south "Man, if only I had a torch instead of a lantern, haha, maybe the fire would scare it off"
"Well, if North is Wrong then that only leaves west, since I came from the east." He heads west
-West from Round Room: Chasm-
A huge chasm lies between you and the other side of the room. A small person appears to be looking at you. You wave, and it waves back. You notice there is a BOW AND ARROW on the wall behind the guy. He can't hear you asking for it, though.
"Oh... damn that's unfortunate. So I can't really do anything from the round room? Disappointing, those tend to have the most branches!
Ace heads east twice and goes north once.
-Spiral Stairs (north from Entrance)-
A huge stair wrapped around a pillar goes on for what seems like an eternity. Obvious exits are SOUTH and DOWN
"No other way than down." He begins his descent
Bottom of Stairs
After a long walk, you find yourself standing an old wooden door. The only other way is back up the stairs.
Ace tries to open the door "Obviously, it's locked. Wouldn't be mentioned if it wasn't, I mean. Good thing I have that rusty key." Ace uses the key on the door, hoping it works
The door unlocks, revealing a long hall, with lanterns making a dim light. You step in, and the door behind closes. It's not locked, though. You turn around, and see two knight statues barring the door.
"WE MUST CHECK TO SEE IF YOU DIDN'T STEAL ANYTHING!" They yell! You drop your stuff on the ground and they see you only had the stuff you came with "GOOD, YOU MAY LEAVE NOW, OR EXPLORE THE MINES SOME MORE" They yell.
You turn around, seeing the huge hall again. Exits are SOUTH, SOUTHWEST, WEST, NORTHWEST and NORTH. Or you can go back to the stairs by taking the door on the EAST.
"Wow, eh, that was fairly weird. But I suppose I won't be able to take anything back with me through that wooden door. I must find another way up, obviously." He taps his chin "Kinda enjoying this challenge, though, it brings back good memories. And in my memories, I always go counter-clockwise. North it is." He heads north.
"I also don't think I'll need the key anymore, but I'm not facing any inventory problems, so it's not like it really matters"
Rusty Bridge
A small wooden bridge stands over a chasm. Minecarts are toppled on their side on both sides of the bridge, revealing massive lumps of coal. Exits are NORTH and SOUTH, though you probably can't get through the bridge with anything too heavy.
Ace carefully crosses that bridge "Oh, cool, weight puzzles" He rolls his eye "Those are really one of the worst. Let's see what's on the other side, though, and I'll cross that bridge when I come to it"
Gardens
A big DIAMOND rests on some leaves. It seems fairly heavy
There appears to be a cart track heading off into a small cave, though you can't get into it. There's also no MINECART here.
|
|
Post by Ace on Jul 24, 2013 17:52:17 GMT
"Oh darn, and look, it's a diamond, shiny too! Not real too, but who cares, I must have it!" He coughs "Let's not be too hasty, though. One, there could be a trap switch under it, so I likely need something as heavy to switch the diamond. There's also that bridge thing, so it seems I can't do a lot in here quite yet." He goes back south twice, and goes to the northwest room from the hall.
Outlook Point
There is a small ledge you can get to, and a FURNACE lays there. You can see, on the distance, feet below you, a minecart track leading from EAST to SOUTHWEST.
