"Yes, yes, I could get used to this, haha!" Ace begins to go around the place "Hot tubs, reclined chairs, oh, cool, those old arcade machines! Yes, I'd like to play a round of some pinball, thank you!"
He begins to play with the machine, and notices something on the corner of his eye "Oh, there's also a pretty nice big fridge here, guess we're feasting tonight! Well, at least until we get to our next location, of course. Hopefully we can win again"
"I dunno, though, something feels missing..."

(To Ace) "Somethings missing? I can't find one thing wrong!" Kelsey said slipping into the hot tub "Ah, yes! I want this! Every night! Every night!"

"We just have to do our bests to win every time, I guess" Ace smiles, and he's able to hide feeling a bit down "I guess I'll bring my stuff here for the night, maybe see if I can actually draw and make something, I've been mostly scribbling and I want to fix that"

"That's a good idea" Kelsey said closing her eyes and turning the bubbles on the hot tub "I guess you really want something to occupy you, Ace? But I agree we need to try our best to win! I never want to give this up"

"Yeah, I mean, the challenge was awesome, this place is awesome, and heck, everyone here is awesome. Maybe it's just I'm used to doing more than just chilling, and I'm not used to chilling around this much" Ace laughs "Really loved the challenge, though, and maybe I'd wish that action was more constant, but of course, there's the whole travel in-between, which is also really cool, but in another way." He says, awkwardly "Though really, I dunno, I should relax more"

Kelsey jumps out of the hot tub and rubs self down with a towel. "Right, time to make some impossible high scores on these arcade machines!" Kelsey said jogging over to the machines. She began to play, watching the screen intently. "Aha done! Score: 5,886,994!" Continues playing. Wanders outside.

Ace enters the room "No, she isn't in here either. Gah, you gotta be kidding me" He sits on a desk "I... I need to relax. Can't really work under this pressure". He gets some Ice Cream from the fridge "Oh, break-up food. No matter if it didn't even start, or anything at all, you're still good to drown my sorrows" He turns on a nearby TV and begins watching some Doctor Who "No... too much drama for now, I should really just watch anything a cartoon, at least one that doesn't involve relationships" He begins flipping through channels "Arnold, no, it has. Fairly Odd Parents, it has." The channel lands on My Little Pony "Well, at least, it shouldn't have. Or are little kids into that sort of stuff? Anyway, they say these ponies can help you smile, man, I'm willing to try anything right now"

Kelsey runs in "DID I HEAR DOCTOR WHO!? Oops, I mean, doctor who? Oh no, it's my little pony...I can settle for that too" Sit down next to Ace whilst munching popcorn.

"Oh, hey Kelsey, what's up" Ace smiles, he's really tired "I'm just trying to chill for a while, so I just searched for the most jolly and colourful show I could. This one seems to fit the description, apparently. Never saw too much of it other than some memes on the internet, but since there's a lot of people that like it, I think I'll leave it on for a while. But god, was Fluttershy annoying on those memes."
"As much as I love Doctor Who from the little I saw since last week, not really in the mood for sci-fi. If you want, you can change it, though, I'm just mostly trying to relax"
"I'm not going to offer ice cream to you, though, seem like it'd be a pretty contrasting experience what with the popcorn and all"

He clears his throat "Oh yeah, thanks for asking. It's just, that yeah, I just want to chill for a bit." He lies. He doesn't want to draw any negative attention to the matter, for both his sake's and Paola's "I told you before, but there's the whole I'm really bored thing, and I miss home quite a lot. Paola told me something about home - and it made me miss it, you know."
He stops for a second, a his next words are genuine "God, how long haven't I been home. Even before the show, I spent a lot of time away, doing other things. Work things. Sometimes I feel like 'work' is maybe too heavy of a word for what I do, since it's nothing on paper and it's more on my on will, for fun. It's still something some people do for a living, though."
"Sometimes I think I 'work' *he uses finger quotes* too hard, but I like doing that, and it makes me be away from home for a long time. Uh, how long has it been anyway? 3 months. Yeah, I think it was. 3 months on the road. Fun business, sure, but 3 months... wow, I didn't even notice"
He slaps his forehead "God, wonder how they are doing"

"Oh gosh! 3 months?! That must be hard Ace!" Kelsey said, touching his arm, then moving it away again, noticing where it was.
"Yeah, I was talking to Paola, she was upset too, it was about her aunt. I guess everyone's sad right now and everyone's got their own problems with the change of setting and lifestyle. I sure miss my family, I've been trying so hard to get a signal on my phone but...nothing." Kelsey said crossing her arms and looking down.
"Anyway what 'work' were you doing that kept you away for 3 months?" Kelsey said trying to forget the thing that was making her sad and focus on Ace.

Ace, looking down, keeps talking "Yeah, 3 months. But I don't think I told anyone yet. I always liked detective stuff. You know, checking for clues, piecing everything together, pointing the culprit. All that 'nerdy' stuff, using codes and all that. Since I'm not old enough to work somewhere official, I made my own 'company'. Used only to solve small robberies and find missing stuff. Nothing big, really.
"But recently, in the last year, I began getting some messages. Someone must've noticed me over the web or something, but it was a letter. A simple letter telling me to go to Mexico, and find the secret of a mine. Risky, of course. But you got to take risks in life, and it could be the beginning of something big. So I went there, and well, found the secret, found the people who had stolen a bunch of gold, a pretty big gem I managed to keep to myself, and got them all locked up in jail. They weren't armed or anything, probably because they weren't expecting anyone to figure out."
"You probably don't know this, but it's known as the 'Mine That Went To Waste'. Some folks think it's just urban myth or something, and my name wasn't revealed on the media or anything, but it was good. It was the start of a new path for me, cliché as that may sound, haha"
"Got another call a few months later. This time it was about the "Curse of Scotland". That's where I was the last three months, searching for clue on that old thing. Found nothing I didn't know, except some coordinates, but I can't get access to the area, so it was a moot point"
He chuckles "I'm likely boring you, though. If you want me to stop, not a problem. Also, we're not even watching the ponies, so if you want, you can watch Doctor Who or something"

Kelsey was intrigued "I'm not bored at all, if anything, I must be the most boring person in the world to you! I knew you were cool and smart but, gosh this is more than I ever imagined!" Kelsey said staring at Ace, Kelsey noticed she was staring and snapped away.
"Why I can see why you've been so bored recently! No wonder!" Kelsey said
"So if you have all this cool and mysterious stuff going on, why are you here? Why are you on this cruise?" Kelsey asked interested and wanting to know more.

"Haha, don't worry, I know it may seem odd, but don't worry. You're all really nice folks, and it's good to get a change of pace." He sighs
"And okay, you got me, it's clear I didn't came to the competition"
"I think you need to know about the Curse of Scotland. I suppose that's also related to the origin of my name"

"The origin of your name?" Kelsey asked looking confused.

Post by Ace on Jul 22, 2013 23:03:55 GMT
"Yeah, Ace isn't a pretty common name, even so, it's my real one, haha."
"You see, the Curse of Scotland is a pretty known thing over there, though not so much over here. Relating to card, Scottish Folk always seem to hate a specific card - The 9 of Diamonds. Now, the 9 of Diamonds took my attention because of two reasons"
"One, the same 9 of Diamonds seems to be related to the Dalrymple shield. Dalrymple was a Scottish Noble who ordered the Massacre of Glencoe. I got this shield on my second case, way back at the start. Where I just had to find an item someone lost. It was still rather dangerous, though"
"Second, the 9 of Diamonds is also the name of a ship. A cruise ship who turned into wreckage. The cruise ship in which I was raised in and that mysteriously vanished one day. Out of thin air. We never heard of it again"
"So I can't really say I don't have a lot to do with the 9 of Diamonds. I'd say this is why my name is Ace 'Jay' DeLance. Jay is the true nickname here. My name seems to be deeply connected to the 9 of Diamonds and, consequently, the Curse of Scotland. Ace, because of well, the card, and 'Jack of All Trades, my nickname, because of the 'J' card, which is also called Jack"
"Trades is also used sometimes as 'suits', but it's not as common. Therefore Ace - The Jack of All Trades. It wasn't a nickname or a stereotype I created either, it was basically given to me"
"But I disgress, and sorry for doing so. Anyway, I went to Scotland to investigate the Curse of well, Scotland. After three months, I manage to find the coordinates, though they were locked in a small device" He goes to his bag, and takes out a big purple shiny gem and a small wooden box from it "This is actually not a priceless gem, don't get excited, but actually, there's a message engraved on it." He asks Kelsey to hold the gem, and goes take the 9 of Diamonds (Dalrymple) Shield from his bag
"Hold it against the light, please" (For the sake of the story, Kelsey does so) Ace puts the shield above the gem, and through each of the holes of the diamonds in the shield, a letter appears. They form the word 'Scoundrel'. "Unsurprisingly, the word is also related to the Curse of Scotland. As you can see, though, it's a password. Much needed for the box, really, since the contents inside dissolve if you put the wrong password in. Same trick used in the Da Vinci Code, so it was easy to identify the box"
"So I got the coordinates, and they point to a place in the middle of the ocean. A restrict place though, no one ever could get common access to it, and believe me, I tried"
"Except, for some reason, this ship goes right above it"

Kelsey was shocked, speechless. Trying to say words but nothing came out of her mouth.
"Wait a sec, if this boat goes right over it, and you're on the boat how are you going to get to it? The boat won't stop it he middle of no where." Kelsey said still amazed by Aces knowledge.
"You're not going to....." Kelsey refused to finish her sentence
